About

My main area of research is the history and philosophy of science, especially the establishment of modern science in the seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries. Working mainly on the figures of Isaac Newton and René Descartes, of late (i.e. my PhD Dissertation under the advisory of John Henry,University of Edinburgh) I have been analysing the problem of the causation of force in Newton’s natural philosophy rehearsing a combination conceptual scrutiny, historical reconstruction and a  sociological approach (that of the strong programme of the Edinburgh school). Previously, I worked in the development of Newton’s ideas on the absolutes space and time viewed as another critical approach to Descartes’s natural philosophy. I have taught in the University of Antioquia (Medellín, Colombia).
